The project: The main project has the title “Defining control and function of alternative splicing during tumorigenesis”. It will be carried out in collaboration with the Dr. Ast’s Group at Tel Aviv University. We want to develop a method that predicts an “ordered list” of specific alternative transcription start sites, promoter usage sites, and splice factor sites that are linked to specific alternative splicing events. Additionally, we want to validate the predictions for some investigated genes and tumors (leiomyosarcomas) and work out the regulation and signaling network that is leading to alternative splicing events.
Your qualification: Diploma or Masters degree in Bioinformatics or a closely related field (Mathematics, Physics, Informatics, Biology). Knowledge in machine learning techniques, molecular biology or in programming R and Perl is of great advantage.
