PhD student Position @University of Heidelberg

Within the division of Professor M. Hecker (Cardiovascular Physiology), one scholarship is available from July 1st, 2009 at the latest. The successful candidate should enjoy interactive teamwork in the field of vascular biology and have completed programs (M.S./M.A.) in the natural sciences, human or veterinary medicine.
The research activities of the funded project concentrate on the differentiation of smooth muscle cells during biomechanically induced vascular remodelling processes (e.g. hypertension, arteriosclerosis) and will be done in close collaboration with the group of Prof. Angel from the DKFZ. Funding comes from the German Research Foundation (DFG).
